Come live in our basement for the summer! We’re a couple in our late thirties, both of whom graduated from the Institute’s MTS (where we met!), and the male half of whom graduated from the Ph.D in 2018. We have five kids (9, 7, 4, 2, and seven months). Our home is in Hyattsville, just three miles from the Institute, in a lovely neighborhood right across the street from the vibrant St. Jerome’s parish.

The basement is finished and furnished, and it has a separate entrance. It boasts two bedrooms, each with its own full bathroom; a kitchen; and a dining room/common area. There’s also a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer, which we would share. One of the bedrooms is already occupied (by a PhD candidate at the Institute), but the other room (and attendant bathroom) will be vacant for the summer. The exact timing is somewhat flexible, but it will be available from sometime in May until sometime in August. Our current tenant is male, so you, his potential basement-mate, will need to be male as well. The available bedroom is just over 200 sqft, plus a big walk-in closet. Rent is $875/month.

We are in search of a housemate to rent an upstairs bedroom (7.25 x 9 ft.) in our lovely all-women row house in the Petworth neighborhood of DC. The location is quiet, with the benefit of being a few blocks from multiple grocery stores, a metro stop, coffee shops and great restaurants, and a public library! We are seeking a 4th housemate who wants to join a friendly, clean, peaceful, faithful Christian household. Rent is $794.

The Room: The room comes furnished with a bed, desk and chair and can come furnished with a small fabric dresser if desired. The owner of the room will also be allocated a closet directly outside the room.

About Us: 3 Christian women (ages 23-30) who work at various non-profits in the city and each attend a local church. The shared kitchen, living room, dining room, basement, and 3 bathrooms(!) have been remodeled and have beautiful interior design and natural light. There is one full bathroom upstairs and two half-baths (one on the main floor and one in the basement), and we use the full basement as a common room and for extra storage. The backyard is two-tiered with a back deck and brick patio with an amazing view of the city below.

Transportation, Parking, Local Amenities: The neighborhood is quiet and the house is a 15-minute walk from the Petworth/Georgia Ave. metro stop on the Yellow/Green line, and there are lots of bus routes nearby. There is street parking (Zone 4c), and Catholic University of America and the CUA metro stop (on the Red line) are 10-15 minute drive. Capitol Hill and downtown are about 20 minutes away by car. There are cute, local restaurants on Upshur Ave. only a few minutes away, and a Safeway and Yes! Organic Market only a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute drive from the house. Rock Creek Park also is a 10-minute drive or a ~35 minute jog.

Ideal housemate: We are looking for a housemate who is clean, conscientious, dependable, and considerate. We are relaxed and low-key, in and out of the house for work, church, and social events. Hi! Currently, we are looking for a fourth roommate to join our beautiful, four-story townhouse in Brookland, DC. The fully furnished townhouse is located right behind the Dominican House of Studies and the USCCB. It is a 7 minute walk to McGivney Hall and the Brookland-CUA metro station. Every year for seven years, this townhouse hosted students that attended the JPII Institute. This coming year one roommate sharing the master bedroom will be an incoming master’s student at the Institute. The townhouse is owned by devout Catholics. This will be my fourth year living in the townhouse, and we keep the place very clean.

The available room is a single bedroom with a large closet and private full bath. The available bedroom is the only room not furnished; however, there is a bed left by a previous roommate that you can use if you would like. Our Catholic men’s house in Silver Spring, MD has a room opening beginning in July 1, 2024. We are a longtime group house (affectionately known as ‘Valhalla’ to its present and former occupants) that would love to hear from you if you’re interested in a place for the upcoming school year.

Our house is located about 3 minutes (by foot) from the Forest Glen metro stop on the Red line, which is almost exactly 15 minutes to the CUA metro stop. It’s in a quiet and suburban part of Silver Spring (far from the antics of Brookland), with easy access to grocery shopping and beautiful parks/walking trails. We are also an 8 minute walk from the weekly TLM at Old St. John’s, as well as a 12 minute walk to new St. John’s, and a short drive to St. Bernadette’s.

The house itself is a 5 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom. The room is a large basement bedroom for $580/mo. + utilities (~$100/mo). The lease is month-to-month.

There are five of us that live in the house–we like to keep things clean, and enjoy spending time together watching movies, talking philosophical/theological shop, or hosting the occasional party.
