Liturgical Life

The Eucharist is the mystery of faith par excellence: “the sum and summary of our faith” (CCC, 1327) and life of the Church.  Participating in communal liturgical life informs our institute’s mission to “not presume to take possession of reality, but instead accept it as a gift, discovering in all things the reflection of the Creator and seeing in every person his living image” (Evangelium vitae, 83).

A weekly Institute Mass for students, faculty, and staff is celebrated during the academic year each Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Chapel at The Catholic University of America.

In addition, the Institute community gathers for an Opening Mass and a Graduation Mass to open and close each academic year.

Music for all Institute liturgies is led by the student schola, which practices weekly.  Contact the Institute offices if you would like to join.

"To celebrate the Eucharist means to enter into the openness of a glorification of God that embraces both heaven and earth, an openness effected by the Cross and Resurrection… Everything, then, comes together: the horizontal and the vertical, the uniqueness of God and the unity of mankind, the communion of all who worship in spirit and in truth."

There are additional opportunities for Mass, confession, and communal prayer at some of our neighboring institutions:
