Ph.D. candidate Matthew Newell will defend his dissertation “Beauty as ‘Oxymoronic Polarity’ in Gregory of Nyssa“ on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. in McGivney Hall Room 214.

His dissertation board includes Dr. Jonathan Bieler (director), Dr. David C. Schindler, and Dr. Margaret McCarthy from the Institute faculty. The external grader is Dr. Robin Young, Associate Professor of Church History at The Catholic University of America.
