Rev. Msgr. Pierangelo Sequeri

Msgr. Pierangelo Sequeri is President of the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family at the Lateran University in Rome. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Milan on June 28, 1968. He studied music and philosophy, and then obtained his doctorate in theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome in 1972 . He has served as professor philosophy and theology at the Major Seminary of Milan, musicologist of the Biblioteca Ambrosiana, professor in charge of sacred aesthetics at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera. He was most recently the dean and professor of fundamental theology at the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy.
Msgr. Sequeri is a Consultor of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization, and Member of the International Theological Commission, is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Paul VI Institute of Brescia, the San Carlo Foundation of Modena, and the General and Applied Ethics Center at the Collegio Borromeo in Pavia . He is the author of numerous scholarlybooks and articles, especially in the areas of theology and aesthetics, as well as music production. His area of research is primarily concerned with the intersection of cultural anthropology and religious experience.
