Responding to the Novel Coronavirus

Following the decision of The Catholic University of America, the Institute will be making adjustments to its courses and semester calendar as a precautionary measure against the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Classes scheduled for Monday, March 16, and Tuesday, March 17, are cancelled and will be rescheduled for later in the semester. Beginning on Wednesday, March 18, all Institute courses will be taught online at least through Monday, March 30. Instructions for both faculty and students regarding the online system for courses will be sent via email by the end of this week.

Provisions are also being made for upcoming exams and other scheduled events, and announcements will be made with the pertinent details as soon as possible.

Although campus will remain open during the next few weeks, students are strongly encouraged to stay at home. Faculty and staff will be reachable during normal business hours by phone or email.

As the situation of the DC area and the spread of the virus develop, the resumption of in-person classes at the end of this month may be re-evaluated. We expect to have a firm decision by March 25 on when in-person instruction will resume.
