The  Pontifical John Paul II Institute cordially invites you to a lecture by theologian Martin Bieler Thursday, February 5, at 4:00 p.m. Dr. Bieler will speak on “Resonance According to Hartmut Rosa.”

The frenetic pace of contemporary life has built a world of estrangement among people and from reality itself. German sociologist Hartmut Rosa suggests a dramatic reintegration through “resonance”: “When we love, something like a vibrating wire arises between us and the world.” And then it can happen that the world suddenly begins to speak to us again. And in that speaking yet someone else may speak to us. 

Swiss theologian Martin Bieler holds the 2026 David L. Schindler Fellowship for Distinguished Scholars at the Institute.

The lecture will be followed by a reception.
