Continuing Education Course: Called to Love

January 25, 2021 at 6:30 PM - April 26, 2021 at 8:30 PM

January 25, 2021 — April 26, 2021 (6:30pm – 8:30pm)

The Spring 2021 course in the Institute’s ongoing Continuing Education Series will be “Called to Love.”

This course studies John Paul II’s Man and Woman He Created Them: A Theology of the Body — his “Wednesday catecheses”— through a reading of the text and a discussion of his scriptural, theological, and philosophical methodology. It shows how the dual unity of man and woman and their interpersonal communion, even in the body, image divine trinitarian life. Special emphasis will be made on the foundations of the Theology of the Body in the Christian tradition. The course will draw also on other works by John Paul II that deal with marriage and the family, such as The Jeweler’s ShopLove and Responsibility, and Roman Triptych.

UPDATE: *This course will be taught online only (no longer taught in person and online simultaneously). In this way, students who cannot come to campus will be able to follow the class and obtain credit.

The class fee is $150. Registration for this course has closed.

This course can be taken toward renewal requirements for VCEA licensure. Numerous high schools in the Archdiocese of Washington accept the course for CEU credits.
