Apartments and Housemates

Come live in our basement!  We’re a young couple, both of whom graduated from the Institute’s MTS (where we met!) in 2012 and who are living in Hyattsville’s Historic District while the male half of us stumbles through the Institute’s doctoral program.  Our home is just three miles from the Institute, in a lovely neighborhood right by the vibrant and faithful St. Jerome’s parish, and boasts ample garden space to which any renter would be welcome to contribute.

The basement is finished, is largely furnished, and is divided into two rooms (one of which could be a bedroom, the other a study/sitting/prayer/entertaining/recreation space—or whatever your fancy should dictate), both of which are just over 210 square feet, and both of which have windows.  In addition, there's a full bathroom and a small room dedicated to housing a washing machine and dryer.  Rent is $700, plus utilities, and the space will be available in August.  If you’re interested in learning more, and in potentially furthering the mission of the Institute by helping one of its PhD students stay financially afloat, please contact Mike at michael.joseph.john@gmail.com.  Thank you!

The house on McKenney Ave in Silver Spring, MD is a 10-min walk from the Forest Glen metro station--4 stops on the red line from CUA--and close to Washington, D.C. A block away from St. John's Catholic church, and a short distance to CVS, Whole Foods, farmers' markets, etc. Every housemate has her own room and shares the house with four other women who are grad students and professionals. The house has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a dining room, sun room, and a garden with veggies and herbs. Rent is $600/mo plus utilities. Nobody has pets. We very much enjoy having guests for dinner and welcome female overnight guests. We are looking for a female roommate to move in any time in July or August.

We are a chill house with a respectful atmosphere and throw great parties every once in awhile. We love good food, good beer and wine, great conversations--and we love having all of those on our back porch, sometimes spilling out in the yard and going late in the night around the fire pit.

We share dinners Monday-Thursday, which is awesome, as you only have to cook one night a week!

If this atmosphere sounds good to you, please contact me at rachelmcoleman@gmail.com for more details and pictures.
