St. John the Evangelist Church in Silver Spring, Maryland is seeking an evangelizing Catholic who knows, loves, and lives the teachings of the Church to serve as the Director Faith Formation (DRE). St. John’s is a vibrant and multi-cultural parish. The DRE will report directly to the Pastor and will oversee all aspects of faith formation at the parish: children’s faith formation, adult formation [RCIA], youth and young adult ministry. The ability to work with other pastoral staff, organizational skills – including database and records management – are essential.
Job qualifications:
• A Masters or Bachelors degree in Theology or Catechesis preferred. However, consideration will be given appropriate educational background
• Practical parish experience
• Bilingual in English and Spanish appreciated.
• Availability to work on Sunday morning and some evenings.
