“The Metaphysical Preambles to the Preambles of Faith” Lectures

Dr. D.C. Schindler, Professor of Metaphysics and Anthropology, will present at the 2022 American Catholic Philosophical Association Annual Meeting.  The gathering’s theme is “The Metaphysical Preambles to the Preambles of Faith.”  It will be held at The InterContinental Hotel in New Orleans, LA, from November 17-20.

 

Dr. D.C. Schindler will lecture alongside a series of speakers on the topic “Laying the Groundwork for Metaphysics: William Desmond and Thomas Pfau” on Friday morning.  His talk is entitled “Image and Intelligence: A response to Thomas Pfau’s Incomprehensible Certainty.”

 

On Saturday afternoon, Dr. Schindler will present during a satellite session on “The Philosophy of Robert Spaemann (1927-2018).”  His specific presentation is titled “Re-Thinking Nature and Person in the Thought of Robert Spaemann.”

Additionally, Dr. Schindler organized a satellite session, alongside Joseph Trabbic, on the topic “The Problem(s) with Liberalism” which will be held on Friday morning.

Two John Paul II Institute Ph.D. candidates will present during the Friday morning satellite session:

  • Somer Salomon: “Theology of Property”
  • Andrew Shivone: “The Problem of the Child in Liberal Thought”
