Andrew J. Majka, M.D., is a consultant in the Division of Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic. He serves as the Associate Chair of Quality in the Department of Medicine. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine, a Gold Fellow in the Mayo Quality Academy, and a Fellow with the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Majka attended the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he earned his undergraduate degree as well his medical degree. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Rochester, Rochester, N.Y. Prior to joining Mayo Clinic in 1998, Dr. Majka practiced as a general internist at the Ogden Clinic in Ogden, Utah, where he also served as president as well as a member of the Board of Directors.
In his practice and in his leadership roles, Dr. Majka is dedicated to health care process improvement and teaching the tools of quality improvement to his colleagues and staff. With his commitment to offering quality training enterprise wide, Dr. Majka was a core member of the Mayo Clinic team that developed the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Fellowship for the Mayo Quality Academy. This vital program helps ensure that quality is the attribute that defines each patient’s experience at Mayo Clinic and that it takes into account the whole patient experience. Its goal is to deliver evidence-based medicine in a safe environment with compassion, integrity, and respect for all patients and to continue Mayo’s longstanding tradition as a leader in quality medical care.
