Introduction
The Master of Theological Studies in Marriage and Family (M.T.S.)
conforms to the special provisions of Magnum Matrimonii which establish
a basic pontifical degree program for students who have completed
the undergraduate liberal arts curriculum.
In particular, the M.T.S. degree provides a background in the specific
theological disciplines related to Christian anthropology, ethics
and faith in society. Therefore, the program prepares the graduate
to begin academic research and teaching and professional work in
which skills of this sort are required or useful, including religious
