Health Insurance

Medical insurance is required of all full-time students and all full-time and part-time international students.

Students enrolled at the John Paul II Institute are eligible to participate in a Student Insurance Plan available through The Catholic University of America. This insurance plan is provided by The Chickering Group and is underwritten by Aetna Life Insurance.

Policy Period
Coverage for all insured students enrolled for the Annual Policy will become effective at 12:01 a.m. on August 14, 2008, and will terminate at 12:01 a.m. on August 14, 2009.

Enrollment

Students interested in enrolling in the Student Insurance Plan must contact the JPII administrative offices at information@johnpaulii.edu.  Please provide your name, address, and phone number.

Please contact the administrative offices prior to September 10, 2008.

Coverage of Dependents
Covered students may also enroll their lawful spouse and unmarried dependent children under age 19 who reside with, and are fully supported by, the covered student for the same coverage.

To enroll eligible dependents:

1. Enrollment for dependents is accomplished by direct application to the Chickering Group after the student has enrolled him/herself through the University.

2. Log on to Chickering's website and To enroll online you will need:

• Your student identification number or your social security number
  
• A Visa, MasterCard or Bank Account information if you wish to pay by E-Check
  

Coverage of dependents begins August 14, 2008, and ends August 14, 2009. Dependents whose applications and premium payments are received between August 14, 2008, and September 14, 2009, will be accepted into the Plan; however, coverage will be effective the day after the postmarked date. Applications received after September 15, 2008 will not be accepted and the dependent will have to wait until the next Open Enrollment period to apply.
