Dr. Kampowski has been teaching since 2005 at the Pontifical John Paul II Institute in Rome, where he is Professor of Philosophical Anthropology. Dr. Kampowski in Rome also there defended his doctoral dissertation on Hannah Arendt's action theory and moral thought. His doctoral dissertation has been published by Eerdmans under the title: Arendt, Augustine, and the New Beginning. The Action Theory and Moral Thought of Hannah Arendt. His other work in the United States includes an examination of the contributions of Hans Jonas and Jürgen Habermas to the current debate on biotechnology, and which has been published in Italian by Cantagalli, Siena as Una libertà più grande: la biotecnologia, l'amore e il destino umano.
